Piano Recital, May 20, 2011
Here is a clip of Abby playing and singing "Our God" with a worship band - its not the whole song, as I had to cut it down to a smaller size for now.
Here is Ian, and then Ian and Abby together.

Sledding in the Frigid North
I took Ian and Elijah to a Cub Scouts sledding party in January. It was 12 degrees. But we still had fun! This is the sledding hill- it was basically a 50-foot plunge into a ravine. Fast and furious! Ian loved it, but it was a bit much for Elijah. Both times he ended up with a face full of snow. In 12 degree weather, that's hard to stomach at age 5.
Elijah got to try cross-country skiing, which he really enjoyed. He wanted to do it several times.

Where does he come up with this stuff?
This is a video Ian made on his digital camera. We have no idea where he came up with this, but it may have something to do with him watching NASCAR races with his Dad. Surely this is how Ron Howard would have started as a young man...
We're genuinely impressed with his creativity!

Kids Say the Darndest Things
Here are some of our favorite quotes from the kids over the past few years:
Abby got a box of Nilla Wafers as a treat from the store on the way home. She said "Mom! The box says- 'No Cholesterol-OMG!'" She was apprehensive thinking OMG meant "Oh My God," which we don't like to say. I told her that OMG was really 0mg - zero milligrams!
Ian asked Abby on the way home from church if she wanted a little advice now that she was going to share a room with the baby. She said, "Sure." He said, "Don't leave the lid open on the garbage!" He had shared a room with Elijah and had experience with dirty diapers!
Elijah was complaining that he had a sore in his mouth, and announced to us that he had a "cankersaurus." (Pretty sure he meant canker sore...!)
Nichole was playing "this little piggy" for the 100th time with Elijah and she started to get silly...
"This little piggy went to Target,
This little piggy stayed in the cart.
This little piggy ordered a mocha latte,
This little piggy had none.
This little piggy cried 'Wee wee wee' because he had to take a nap."
Abby explaimed, "Mom! That's like your life!"
Nichole and I read 1 Kings in the Bible about the Queen of Sheba coming to visit King Solomon. Ian stopped and asked, "Dad, wait a minute. How come we just read about building the Temple and now people are coming to visit? How come it skipped and didn't talk about adding some 'homey touches' or some furniture?"
Only recently has Elijah learned that the Dairy Queen treat is actually a Blizzard, not a Lizzard!
